Arrow of Light Den

Den Leader: Jen Vinsick

Den Meetings:

A child who is in the fifth grade is an AOL.  The AOL program is designed to prepare Cub Scouts to join a Scouts BSA Troop in February of their fifth grade year.  This gives time for new Scouts to get familiar with the Troop and time to prepare for summer camp.

Once the Webelos rank requirements have been complete or a new child joins Cub Scouting in the fifth grade, he may work on Arrow of Light requirements, which include:

  • Understanding that citizenship begins when you enter a community, and is more than just saluting the flag.
  • Creating a Scouting presence in the community.
  • Preparing for weather emergencies
  • Planning campfire programs
  • Developing Scout skills for rope care and knot tying
  • Developing Scout skills of pocketknife usage, safety rules, and care
  • And more!
