Information we collect

Your privacy is critically important to us. We collect information to provide better services to all of our users. We collect information in two ways:
Information you give us or information provided about you by a Pack or Troop leader. For example, when you register for an account or when a Pack or Troop leader registers an account for you, we ask for personal information, like your name, email address, telephone number and BSA id. Not all information is required and is only collected to enhance our service to the Pack or Troop. We also ask for similar (but not required) information when Scouts are created in Scout Manager.

We collect information related to a Scout?s progress in the Boy Scouts of America program. For example, we collect information provided by you as a Scout works on and completes requirements related to the different ranks, badges, belt loops, pins and other awards.

Information we get from use of our services.

We may collect information about the services that you use and how you use them. This information includes:
  1. Cookies and anonymous identifiers We use various technologies to collect and store information when you visit a Scout Manager service, and this may include sending one or more cookies or anonymous identifiers to your device.
  2. Log information When you use our services or view content provided by Scout Manager, we may automatically collect and store certain information in server logs. This may include:
    • details on how you have used our services
    • Internet protocol address
    • device event information such as crashes, system activity, hardware settings, browser type, browser language, the date and time of your request and referral URL.
    • cookies that may uniquely identify your browser or your Google Account.

How we use information we collect

We use the information we collect from all of our services to provide, maintain, protect and improve them, to develop new ones, and to protect Scout Manager and our users.

We may use dates you have entered to calculate ages or date ranges.

When you contact Scout Manager, we may keep a record of your communication to help solve any issues you might be facing. We may use your email address to inform you about our services, such as letting you know about upcoming changes or improvements.
We may use your email address to send information regarding changes to Scout Manager, its services and policies.

We may use your email address to send you email notifications on behalf of the Pack or Troop Leaders or on behalf of the calendar service. Each user can opt out of receiving all notifications by using email opt-out settings in the user profile.

Information we share

We do not share personal information with companies, organizations and individuals outside of Scout Manager unless one of the following circumstances apply:
  1. With your consent
    We will share personal information with companies, organizations or individuals outside of Scout Manager when we have your consent to do so.
  2. Pack and Troop Leaders in Scout Manager have access to view and edit personal information for users associated with their unit.
  3. For Legal Reasons
    We will share personal information with companies, organizations or individuals outside of Scout Manager if we have a good-faith belief that access, use, preservation or disclosure of the information is reasonably necessary to:
    • meet any applicable law, regulation, legal process or enforceable governmental request.
    • enforce applicable Terms of Service, including investigation of potential violations.
    • detect, prevent, or otherwise address fraud, security or technical issues.
    • protect against harm to the rights, property or safety of Scout Manager, our users or the public as required or permitted by law.

Information security

We work hard to protect Scout Manager and our users from unauthorized access to or unauthorized alteration, disclosure or destruction of information we hold. In particular:
  1. We encrypt some of our services using SSL.
  2. We require user name and password when you access your Scout Manager Account
  3. We provide one-way encryption of passwords which we store.

Privacy Policy Changes

Although most changes are likely to be minor, Base Camp Consulting may change its Privacy Policy from time to time, and in Base Camp Consulting?s sole discretion. Base Camp Consulting encourages visitors to frequently check this page for any changes to its Privacy Policy. If you have a ScoutManager.com account, you should also check your dashboard for alerts to these changes. Your continued use of this site after any change in this Privacy Policy will constitute your acceptance of such change.
